HOLT AND WATERS GUESTS AT NEXT JAVA JAM
The next Java Jam, 6-9 pm, Friday, Aug 24 will feature Bill Holt and David Waters, both award winning musicians. As usual guests perform the first set from 6 to 7pm, the always great buffet is served from 7 to 8 and then the Java Jam Band challenges the visiting professional colleagues to a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants hour of musical one-upmanship and merriment to top off the night.
David Waters, guitarist extraordinaire, has been breaking picks and wearing out strings for 50 years all over America, Europe, Canada and cruise ships. He currently plays with Billy Mata and Texas Tradition out of San Antonio and was inducted into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame in 2010.
Bill Holt, a proud citizen of Boling, has been dragging a big stand up bass around the world and is recognized as one of the legends of this instrument. He too has played, for the last 5 years, with the highly regarded Billy Mata band, and like his partner was inducted into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame in the same year as Waters. Together they are a dynamic duo.
The Java Jam takes place on the square in Wharton, Milam Street Coffee Shop. There is a $15 per person cover charge and guests are asked to bring a covered dish with a little extra to share. Everyone is invited to Wharton’s unique live music, entertainment and dining experience.
