Lonesome Dave Kemp and Duke Davis Special Guests at next Java Jam
“Lonesome Dave” Kemp, a native of Tennessee, who now makes his home in Bandera, Texas, will be the guest entertainer for the Java Jam, Friday, July 27, 6-9 pm at Milam Street Coffee. His producer, Duke Davis, who was so well received here a few months ago, will be back to perform with him. Kemp is a songwriter and guitarist. He has toured with George Strait and opened for many legendary performers including Reba McIntyre.
In 2010 he joined Duke Davis and Buckshot as their guitarist. This gave “Lonesome” a chance to elevate his songwriting and contribute to Buckshot’s Western Swing ‘Cow Jazz’ sound with many of his own compositions, and as a featured vocalist, as well.
Kemp’s Tennessee roots surface in his writing and playing, but he’s got enough Texas ‘twang’ in his soft, soothing voice to make him the real deal! There is a $15/per person cover charge and attendees are asked to bring a covered dish with a little extra to share. The always bountiful buffet also features special desserts contributed by local providers. You may bring your own wine or purchase delicious beverages. The Java Jam is fast becoming known as Wharton’s most innovative, economical, dining/entertainment outing.
